{4.29.2013} anything goes today…

SPaRKS!

It is a fun day with the SPARKS challenge from Paper Smooches.
ANYTHING GOES!!!

Anything Goes PSS

 week 5

This is a great week to JUST PLAY!!!  The Party Posse is a new stamp set for me, though it is “vintage” Paper Smooches.  I just adore that little hamster.  Who knew a hamster could be so cute???  He is colored with some Copics and then popped up on the card.  I cut the balloon out with my Cameo and then did a little surgery on the hamster to be able to thread the balloon string out his little hand.  So adorable.

Check out the other girls sharing their SPARKS cards this week.

**I apologize to all my email and feed readers.
My post went nut-so this weekend and went out early twice.
So, third time’s a charm right?**

I am THRILLED to be using this week’s Stamp of the Week.
Isn’t it darling?

The design team has a bunch of amazing samples on the UNITY BLOG today.

{4.22.2013} Monday SPARKS with Paper Smooches

Hey Sugah.

Here is the NEW SPARKS challenge
from Paper Smooches.

week 4

Doesn’t this photo make you crave a cupcake?
I sure did and almost ran out to get one.  I refrained… barely.

Instead, I stamped them!
The front of the card is trimmed short to show off the patterned paper from the inside.
Then the cupcakes hang over the bottom a little.
Kinda a little fun twist.

There is MORE inspiration over on the SPARKS blog and with these talented ladies.

{4.21.2013} wanna sketch no. 4

So…

I’m beginning a new journey.
A rebirth of sorts and a rediscovery of my craft.

I have been at this blogging thing for 4 years and so much has happened since my first post in March of 2009.  More than I ever imagined.  I have been blessed with AMAZING experiences, lessons, friends, accomplishments and a deep love for a craft I never knew existed.  As with anything, I have grown and evolved.  I have learned and still need/want to learn more.  I have also reached a point where I feel like I need to step back and return to the love that started this adventure.

I recently mentioned that my plate is full.  Well, it is… with normal life.  It is amazing how time flies and how it disappears so quickly.  I’m trying to grasp it with both hands and to cram everything I can into those fleeting moments.  Thus, my blogging has suffered a bit.  You might have noticed or not, but I feel it.  My mojo felt the crunch and let me know I needed to lighten my outside blogging responsibilities.  I am continuing on with Unity (and will forever or until Angela kicks me out) and with Paper Smooches Sparks (my term ends soon, but I’d stay forever if I could).  So now, I can return focus to my blog again.  I can focus more on creating for me and for the things that inspire me.  I’m hoping this will mean more videos and more tutorials.  I have a love for my Cameo and want to share more files with that.  These are just things I have been thinking about and we’ll see what the future brings.  But I am excited.  I feel like the ol’ blog has been ignored and that is not a good thing.

With all that said… I am pleased as punch to bring back Wanna Sketch?  What is this you might ask?  Well, forever ago, I said I wanted to share some sketches I like to create.  Well, life got in the way and I started creating sketches for my design teams instead.  Sadly, Wanna Sketch? got put on the back burner.  Well no more, it is back and I’ll post a new sketch every 3rd Sunday of the month.  It is all for fun.  There are no rules.  I may even combine my sketch with inspiration from another challenge.  I’ll share my card and sketch and you are welcome to link up yours.  I’ll stop by and leave a little love and then select my favorite (or two or three) to highlight in the next month.
Then it all begins again.

So are you ready to see this month’s sketch?

wannasketchblinkie

Such a great basic sketch.  I see so many possibilities with that little banner.  Patterned paper, stamping, different shapes, sentiments… the sky is the limit.  I can’t wait to see what you all do.  I decided to go with embossing.  I’m using the brand new Stamp of the Week from Unity.  The butterfly is just gorgeous.  I grabbed the sentiment the current Kit of the Month as well.

I was also inspired by the Runway Challenge this week.  All that black and white… just stunning.  I couldn’t help but add a little bit of color, but it is pretty muted with the ribbon.  I think this might be the first card I have used ribbon on this year.  How is that possible?  Well, we have remedied that with some soft pink, satin ribbon.  Whew, I feel better.

So, if you feel inspired to create with my sketch, please link up below.  I’d be thrilled if you shared the sketch and link back this post as well.  Like I said, there are no rules.  However you are inspired to use the sketch is just perfect.  I’ll post a favorite or two next month with a new sketch.

CAS(E) this SKETCH!

CTS is a challenge blog to inspire you to create a clean and simple card based on a fun sketch.
Here is my inspiration for this week’s challenge and brand new sketch.

It is that time for our friend’s twin boys to have their birthday.
I always make them an airplane card and this year is no exception.

Lots of stamping this week again.

I’m sad to say this will be my last post with the CTS gang.  My plate is a little full and I’ve had to make some hard decisions to lighten up on some of my blogging commitments.  It is really difficult to say goodbye to this design team.  I’ve put my heart into the start up and the creation of cards plus sketches.  But life has other plans for me right now.
I will still be around cheering everyone on and playing from the other side.

Hugs to all my amazing team members, I will miss working with all of you.

Make sure you hop over to the CTS blog for challenge rules and a blog full of inspiration.
The design team girls are so talented and have the most fabulous cards to share.
