{3.31.2011} Assemble This! tutorial

I can’t believe March is coming to an end!

This year is flying by… it really needs to slow down.

March has been good to me and the blog. Lots of posts going on and Take Two week with Emily was fantastic.  Plus, some BIG and FUN events are in my future.  So much to be excited about and I can’t wait!

I am blogging on the Ippity blog today and will share here too. 🙂

I have a TON of birthdays coming up in April.  Nothing like waiting till the last minute eh!  This one will get me through the first birthday, but I better get stock piling. Ha.

The polka dot strip is some decorative tape I made. Isn’t it cute and fun?

All you need is some paper tape {from any drugstore first aid section}, some ink and stamps. Super easy.

I’ll show you how and share a few tips in this Assemble This! tutorial… hope you enjoy.

{3.17.2011} Assemble This!

Happy St. Patty’s Day!

Did you remember to wear GREEN today???  heehee

Even though I’m not Irish, I used to LOVE corned beef.  I don’t eat beef anymore, but my hubby does.  So, I still like to make corned beef and cabbage.  I’ll eat the cabbage.  YUM!  So that is going in the crock pot today and I’ll make a loaf of Irish brown bread to go with.  I LOVE holidays that FOCUS on food.  Ha!

Enough of my silly food talk and let’s get to the card I have to share today.

I am bad, I didn’t make a card with a shamrock, but instead with buttons!  At least it has a little green on it.  Ha.

The Create: Blog! card challenge this week was to use 10 or more buttons on your card.  Well, I might have fudged it a little and STAMPED more than 10 buttons on my card.  But that is how I roll.

I’m using the sew cute Unity Stampin’ Store kit.

If you’d like to watch along as I Assemble This! {card},
I have a video for today as well.

stamps: sew cute {unity stamp co}
patterned paper: a walk in the park {echo park}

{2.28.2011} hippity hop

Hello Hippity Hoppers!

We are starting a NEW month of challenges.  You can check out all the deets for the challenge on the Ippity blog.

Eva created this sweet sketch for us this week.  I pulled out an older Ippity set called Moon Beam and Heart Strings.  I embossed the moons and stars in white and then created a cutout in the blue paper and popped it up.  A few little embellishments like the ribbon and twine just finished it all off.

I have an Assemble This! video for today as well.. hope you enjoy.

Lisa H. is next!!!!
I just know she has something super wonderful to share with us!

{2.17.2011} no frills scallops

I have a little tutorial to share with you today.
I’m blogging at the Ippity blog today and thought I would share it here as well.

Remember the days when you didn’t have LOTS and LOTS of scrapbooking gadgets???
You may be at that stage, so I thought I would share an easy way to add some scallops to your projects without all those fancy border punches or scissors.

Remember Lisa H’s card from Sunday?  I’ll show you how I did the pink scallop for her card.

And how I added them to this circle card in the video below.

I am submitting BOTH cards to the Paper Piecing Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  I LOVE paper piecing, it is one of my favorite techniques.

Enjoy.

Yay for another Friday with Unity!  These girls have some real FLAIR!!!

I’m building up my birthday stash.  Do you have THIS birthday set yet?  I LOVE it.  That little cupcake is just the perfect little addition to this 4 x 4 card.

Limelight Papercrafts has a new challenge up, you can check it out HERE {LLPC067}.  It is based on this sketch PLUS you have to add a red embellishment.  Well, I created my own embellishment with that cute cupcake and added some fabby RED GLITTER to make it sparkle.  Limelight still has one awesome CLEARING OUT SALE, make sure you check it out.
