{8.15.2012} Unity + Ribbon Carousel

Unity and Ribbon Carousel

It is a fun day!!!
Unity Stamp Company and the Ribbon Carousel are hopping together.
Lots of great stamps and trims to inspire you.
Let’s get to it.

That canvas ribbon is luscious!
It has such great texture and I love the navy blue stripes.
I thought it would make for a nice guy friendly card.
I ended up pairing it with a hodgepodge of Unity stamps.

The kraft makes for a wonderful backdrop for the navy and reds.  I stamped the sentiment twice, cut out the word ‘favorite’ and popped it up.  Heck of a lot easier than trying to dual stamp with two colors.  Lol.

Click on the InLinkz froggy below for the rest of the hoppers.
Make sure you visit each one and leave them some love.

So glad you’re hopping with us! Prizes will be selected randomly from comments left on the DT blogs! The more you comment, the better your chances of winning! Hop will run through Friday, August 17th at 11:59pm EST. Blog Hop winners announced Saturday at 8:00 PM EST!

{7.19.2012} cha…cha…cha

It is a special CHA new RELEASE Hip Hop with the Unity design team today.  If you didn’t start at the beginning of the hop, make sure you head over to the Unity blog.  Lots of yummy new goodies to see.

I’m sharing some lovely and sweet Authentique new releases.  There are so many to choose from, why o’ why do I only have to pick just a select few.  I want to use them ALL!   Ha

I was drawn to these two sets because they were perfect for summer and just too darn fun.

There is SO much more to see.  Up next is the super talented, super sweet and down right beautiful Lisa H. !!!!

{6.18.2012} delight…

So, my mojo is rebelling again.

And it MUST be a teenager, because it sure is in an awful mood.  Ha.  The new Unity Stamp Company – Stamp of the Week was calling to me to create something with it, but goodness… it was a challenge for me.  Literally.  When my mojo needs a good swift kick in the patootie, I turn to challenges.  I have to thank Simon Says Stamp and CAS-ual Fridays for their inspiration when I am in dire need.  I don’t know what I would I do without my favorite challenges.

What a delightful stamp this week.  I love the included banner shape and the butterfly is darling.  Another paper piecing dream.  The challenge for Simon Says Stamp is based on a lovely photo collage by Joy.  It reminds me of pure summertime and sunshine.  I tried to mimic the feelingi by pulling the colors and the flowers from the different pictures.

And the CAS-ual Friday challenge required the use of vellum or acetate.  I haven’t pulled out my vellum in a while, so I embossed the butterfly in white on it.  The 1″ circle was perfect to punch the butterfly out of the center of the stamp.

I hope you delight in each day this week!
Happy Monday.

{5.4.2012} up on the Unity blog

Hello everyone, I am up on the Unity blog today using the current stamp of the week.

The pocket watches are amazing.  Nothing like a timeless piece for any type of card.  I love the saying too.  Perfect for that loved one you are thinking about.  I went with more of a masculine theme.  The arrow is my own creation and added the little heart as an accent.  The number background is from a SMAK kit.  Seriously, these kits are so handy for a card maker as well.  When I stamped the sentiment, I masked over it and then stamped the pocket watches.  I like the invisible divide that the mask creates.  Worked out better than I hoped.  🙂

Also, it is friends with flair day so head to the Unity blog to see all the amazing projects.

{5.1.2012} post no. 1

**this is post no. 1 for today… stay tuned for more**

Unity KOM Sketch Challenge

It is the 1st and that means Unity released a new kit of the month.
You will want to click HERE to see the full kit my friends.

It also means we start a new KOM sketch challenge.

Here is the new sketch.  LOTS of possibilities with this simple layout.

I decided to turn the oval into a rectangle.  I’m more of a straight line kind of girl.  I stamped/masked the flowers and then used a pencil to draw a box.  Using an X-acto knife and a ruler, I cut the box out and then used my scissors to trim around the flowers to allow them to hang outside the box.  I know there is a name for this technique, but for the life of me I can’t remember it.  Basically, the flowers and box are all a single layer, but looks pretty cool.  I wanted to keep it pretty monochromatic with the grey, white and black, so the flowers are shaded with some soft pink Copics.  All the images are from the May 2012 kit of the month.

The PRIZE is huge for the sketch challenge
A FREE kit of the month PLUS 100 Unity stamps!
Amazing, right?
Hope you will play along with us this month.
