{5.31.2012} show and tell

My dear friends

I have really procrastinated on this post.  I always have good intentions and then time gets in the way.  Before I know it, over 2 months have passed since I have received most of these cards.  Geez.  It is about time I share them.

My sweet friend Lindsey sent this thank you card after she won my Facebook giveaway.  BTW, I’ve learned since then that it is ‘illegal’ to have FB giveaways.  Good thing they didn’t find me.  Ha.  I adore this card for so many reasons… the colors, the simplicity and all the white space.  Plus, it features Lindsey’s fabulous talent for embossing.

This card is as sweet as its creator.  Kary has a crazy amazing talent for Copics.  She has the ability to color emotion that always brings a smile or warms my heart.  My husband even praised this little card when I showed it to him (he is my card inspector you know).  I have this one close to my crafting area hoping to absorb some of Kary’s coloring talent.

Some of you may have recognized this card creator before you read her name.  She is super special and has a talent like no other.  I call Emily the stamp mix master.  She can use one stamp from several different sets to create the most fabulous cards.  Not to mention, she has the greatest card humor, thinks completely out of the box and is so talented at coloring as well.  This girl has it all and I adore her to pieces!

I squealed so loud when this card arrived, I’m pretty sure Jessi heard me in Canada.  I am so excited to have a Jessi original.  She rocked the quilling on this card (not surprising as she is uber talented at quilling).  And I love the beading, the colors and that fabulous peacock.  It truly makes me happy.  This lady has the sweetest heart and one fabulous sense of humor.  It is rare for me to read her posts or her comments without laughing.  I adore that.  And do you see what is sitting under that amazing card???  Some of her crocheted circles.  Eeek.  I told her I’m going to hoard them for a bit.  I just love them to pieces.

Thank you sweet friends for my happy mail.  Love you all.

Owl ornament card

The challenge this week at the Hero Arts blog is trimmings.  I think you can take that to mean a lot of things, but I decided to use up my scraps (trimmings from other projects).

This is a version of my card from Friday for my Christmas card stash.  I love this Urban Prairie paper by Basic Grey and I have a lot of scraps lately since I am using it like crazy.  I decided to make the owl look like he’s one of the ornaments.  All the stamps are from Hero Arts.  The little snowflake has rhinestone for a little sparkle.  The ornaments were punched for an EK Success punch.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend.

The EtsyInspired shop this week is Vivikas.  I loved all the owlies so they are my inspiration for this card.  I noticed a few of them had little decorations like a Care Bear… loved that.  So this one is a birthday owl.  I created my own paper pieced pattern for this owl.  I can’t wait to use him again.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
