Happy Friends with Flair day!!! Aka… FRIDAY!!!

I’m so happy it is Friday and I get to spend it with my Unity peeps!!!

Playing with some Ippity stamp sets that really needed some love: Devoted and Bitty Pixie Paisley.

Oh, where to start with this card… so much going on! I used some Shimmerz Vibez to create the background shimmery pattern. I sprayed it over a mask created with the Chinese Knot Chain punch by EK Success. THIS is the patterned paper I used and THESE rhinestones.

Limelight has some great stuff in right now!!!

11.11.2010 – a new Limelight Challenge (post no. 1)

We have a new Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product challenge for you today!

This week we are focusing on incorporating your favorite patterned paper and using this sketch:

The paper I am loving right now is by Basic Grey. I’m using the Oliver and Pyrus paper pads for this card. I’m on a masculine card kick lately and can’t seem to put these paper pads away. Plus, I used THIS awesome label for the sentiment by Unity stamp set.

11.6.2010 – Limelight Project Parade Day

It is November’s Limelight Papercrafts Project Parade day!

The entire Limelight design team was challenged to use one 12 x 12 piece of paper to make a set of cards. I, of course, bent the rules a little. heehee.

I decided to use 4 pieces of 6×6 paper to make 5 sets of holiday cards. YIPPERS, 5 card sets (16 cards total)!!! Amazing right. If you have ever visited the Splitcoast Stampers website, there is something called a One Sheet Wonder (OSW) template. From one sheet of 12×12 you can make a whole set of cards (generally around 12 or more). That doesn’t include the card bases.

I generally do not have much 12 x 12 paper hanging around unless it is card stock. So, when I found a OSW 6×6 template HERE, I was super excited. To make it work and to add a little interested, I opted to use some solid card stock as well.

Here is the list of my basic supples:

2 – 6×6 of Mitten Weather paper
1 – 6×6 of Olivia paper
1 – 6×6 of kraft paper
1 – 12×12 of gray cardstock
1 – 12×12 of pink cardstock
Bows & Holly stamp set
Find the Joy Itty Bitty stamp
Ivory & Brown burlap string
Togetherness buttons
Copics
white gel pen
charcoal Colorbox chalk ink

I also used the Spellbinders Lacey Squares & Labels 14 dies, the Seeing Spots & Snowflake embossing folders by Cuttlebug and some EK success & Martha Stewart border punches.

This was an A.Maz.InG way to create a ton of holiday cards without using a lot of different product. Love that!

11.1.2010 – Hippity Hop

It is H{ippity} Hop time!!!

This week the fabulous Angie challenged us to create a project with FIBERS and using Ippity stamps for IHHC48.

I used some string as my fiber of choice. I hand stitched around the Labels 10 die cut, which matches the label from the Seasons of Joy set perfectly. The saying is from Quotes a la Happy. This one is my fave! And the ruffled ribbon, Pyrus papers & button are from Basic Grey. I sprayed the ruffled ribbon with some Shimmerz Vibez in Hot Fudge to make it a little more vintage looking. Basic Grey products and Vibez are available from Limelight Papercrafts.

To get my mojo running, I turned to additional challenges to inspire this card! First, I turned to Embellish Magazine for the colors (green, yellow and rust) and a vintage feel. And then I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch #91.

10.28.2010 – Flip Flop Hip Hop (post no. 2)

It is Flip Flop Hip Hop day!!!
Today, the Ippity design team is working with Unity stamps and the Unity team is working with Ippity stamps. I am so excited this is going to be a monthly feature!!!

First up, I have this simple little card to go with today’s theme. I kept looking for a way to add more to it, but I just fell in love with the clean and simpleness. I ended up just leaving it alone. The dragonfly is from the August 2009 KOM and the saying is from the April 2010 KOM. Amazing how two kits so far apart can work so well together. It is just a simple way to send a little encouragement and support someone’s way. The dragonfly’s wings are paper pieced from some Togetherness paper by Cosmo Cricket and popped up.

Unity surprises are the best!!!
I am in LOVE with the fabulousity of stamps from these two companies.
PLUS, I’m super lucky to get to play with a few of the sets today.

Eeeek, these snowman mittens are just killin’ me!!! They are so adorable. I stamped them onto some patterned paper and then filled in the bodies of the snowmen with a white gel pen. So cute! I also love the saying…. just something light and fun for the season. I went super cute with this one, so for my next one I went for a more classic look.

So, I went with a monochromatic brown for this one. Has a bit of an old newspaper feel with just a touch of color with the light green pearls. Just a little bit of stitching around each square and then popped it up. Super clean and classy. I had a dilly of a time with my sewing machine for these. It kept pulling my stitches and after 20 minutes I was super frustrated!!! All it took was pulling out my bobbin and putting it back in. ARG… something so simple brought on such frustration. If your sewing machine works then this would be one simple design for mass production! haha.
