{9.10.11} coolio

What a cool date.  I didn’t realize it until I started this post.

Just wanted to pop in and let you all know I am taking a short trip back to South Dakota.  I have some schedule posts ready to go, but I won’t be able to visit all my lovely friends.  I have a feeling my blog reader will be in the 1000’s when I get back.

I may be a little silent, but I’ll try to catch up when I get back.

{8.29.2011} hybrid cards

Happy Monday!

I do a lot of digital and stamping hybrid cards.  Sometimes they are all digital.  I LOVE digital papers, the coordinating elements or the elements you can make.  It is so much fun to pick and choose what I want and only use what I need.  SO GREEN!  I like to be green sometimes.  Don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE my 6×6 pads, tools and ink.  But I’m also a serious computer geek at heart, so I really enjoy digital as well.

This card has been in the archives for awhile.  A LONG while actually.  I made it for my niece’s birthday WAY back in APRIL!  Craziness right.

Everything can be found in THIS and THIS digital Echo Park kits.  The happy birthday and princess were printed using some fonts I had on my computer.

I haven’t made a big deal about the digital parts of my cards.  Never really thought about it since they are just a normal part of my creative process.  I do use digital quite often if you were wondering.

As we near the beginning of a new month, the ole blog gets pretty active.
Get ready!  Ha.

Have a wonderful Monday.

12.28.2010 – My TOP ten cards for 2010…

Oh goodness… I rarely go back and look at the cards I have made.  It is really hard to choose JUST 10 to be my favorites.  But here it goes:

This is so much harder than it would seem.   So why do these cards make the top?  I tried to not think too hard about it.  heehee.  I love each of my cards for various reasons… the person it was made for, a possible publication, a crazy design or it is just plain FUN.

So here are my faves for 2010.  If you’ve been a follower, you have probably seen these before.  I hope they are some of your faves too.  If you are new to my blog… welcome.  I’m so glad you visited.

Do you want to share your top 10 for the year???  Add your name to the blog hop HERE and HERE. Don’t forget that there are prizes to be won! I would love to see which ten of your cards are favorites for 2010!!

9.5.2010 – a HUGE thank you…

I can not thank Susan from PaperCrafter’s Corner enough for the awesome giveaway I won a few weeks back.  The giveaway was for a new Large Edger Punch from EK Success.  Woo hoo!!!  I picked THIS one:

Well, it wasn’t in stock and I had to wait a little longer for it, but that is so OK!!!  I LOVE this punch and would have waited FOREVER for it, but it wasn’t that long!  hehe.  Yesterday the doorbell rang and the lovely package arrive… and it was HUGE.  Why was it so big?  It is just a punch, right.  Well, I’ll tell you why, better yet, I’ll show you.

When I opened that box all of this was inside with the punch!!!  ACK, I was just excited and thankful to receive the punch, but the good people at EK Success added so much more!!!  I couldn’t wait to play with all my goodies, so I created a few cards using the punch and the fun extras.

Aren’t they fun and sweet, oh, I mean scary!  hehe.  I used the chipboard pieces from the Spooktacular Chipbox.  I just adore them.  And of course the punch is awesome!!!  Just a hint when using these intricate large punches, you have have to be patient.  The thicker cardstock takes a bit of umph to punch through and then a little jiggling to get it to retract.  But I love it.  I have been wanting a lattice pattern for so long, it is just perfect.

Thank you so much to Susan at PaperCrafter’s Corner
and to EK Success for such a generous giveaway!!!

relaxing sunday
