{4.25.2011} what, no sentiments?

Oh my!

For the final twist, I’m challenging you to make a card that is blank on the FRONT!  Gasp, I know… NO SENTIMENTS allowed!?!  It is ok, I promise it will be fun.

I love blank cards, I think so much can be said without words, so I hope you are up for the challenge.  You can find all the deets for the Ippity Hippity Hop Twist Challenge {IHHTC4} in the Ippity forum.

Still in that silly mood from Friday… the googly eyes are BACK!  Ha.  I wanted to make a kid friendly birthday card that had the look of a cartoon or doodle.  I used a black pen to create the hand drawn feel.

Say hello to cupcake boy!  Ha.

He goes on lots of crazy birthday adventures.  Haha.

I combined the stamps from Cuppy Cakes and Party Hat Wishes to create this little guy.  The balloons are free handed and cut out from the super cute My Mind’s Eye papers.

I’m so excited to see what Lisa’s created this week… hop on over.

stamps: cuppy cakes, party hat wishes {ippity by unity}
patterned paper: Hazel’s papers {my mind’s eye}
die cuts & punches: butterflies {martha stewart}, labels eight {spellbinders}, scallop sentiments border punch {fiskars}

{4.18.2011} Hippity Hoppin’

It’s Monday!!!

And we are hijackin’ this HIPPITY HOP for one fabulous, amazing, beautiful chick…

EVA

because it is HER BIRTHDAY!!!  Oh yeah, it’s HER BIRTHDAY!!!
So make sure you leave her lots of love today!

I used the inspiration photo from this week’s Ippity Hippity Hop Twist Challenge {IHHTC4} to create our birthday girl’s card.  All the deets for the challenge can be found in the Ippity forum.

I’m using the Sweet Thoughts of Spring scallops to create the banner.  The fun Hopscotch papers from Basic Grey were perfect and seemed to match the inspiration photo perfectly.  And it wouldn’t be a birthday card without the PERFECT happy birthday stamp from Party Hat Wishes.

So can you guess why I picked this inspiration photo???

It is full of so many fabulous ideas.  There are accordion flowers, banners, the colors, the springiness… oh so many inspirations.  But the real reason I picked it is for our fabulous EVA.  It is her {virtual} birthday party and that chair is her birthday throne.  I loved the large letters in the photo and wanted to be sure Eva got her initial on her card too.

Happy birthday girlie, I hope it is as special as you are!!!

Let’s keep this party hoppin’…

the fabulous Lisa H. is next!!!!

stamps: Sweet Thoughts of Spring, Party Hat Wishes {ippity by unity}
patterned paper: Hopscotch (basic grey)
die cuts & punches: real estate sign, scallop circle {ek success}

{4.11.2011} Hippity Hop

Happy H{ippity} Hop!!!

This was a very busy weekend for me filled with baking and crafting.  I love to bake!  It is something I have loved to do since I was just a little bit.  I remember waking up on the weekends and making pancakes or waffles all the time.  Course, I’d make them red or green or blue.  Ha.  I also realize that isn’t baking, but that is how it all started.  🙂

So, when I have a bit of freedom on the weekend I LOVE to bake something new.  Yesterday, I made this amazing lemon pull apart bread.  I have a weakness for breads.

#1, because they are so yummy.
#2, because they can be a bit of a challenge.

You can read about it on my food blog HERE if you’d like (my baking skills have advanced a little from my pancake days, ha).  I’m generally not a fan of lemon anything, but this was so amazing, I didn’t mind it was lemon, in fact I LOVED it.  Ha.  Course, after I zested my lemon for this recipe, I was left with a naked lemon.  To use it up, I made some creamy lemon bars (these have an oatmeal crust) to take into work.  I’ll share that recipe if they have a good review.  🙂

So, are you ready for week 2 of our challenge???

The color combo this week is cream, kraft, teal and red.  I can’t wait to see all the great creations from this color combo!!!

I brought out the House a Home stamp set this week!  I have been on a scene creating kick for my cards lately.  I think it all started with my spring magnet from last Friday!  Ha.  I just love this really tall hill with a love filled home at the top.  This is a definite must have stamp set.  It is full of great scrapbooking and card making images.

I can’t wait to hop on over to Lisa’s blog to see what she made for us this week!  She has been on a FANTASTIC crafty roll lately with her beautiful creations!

{4.4.2011} hippity hoppin’

It’s Monday!!!

And time to start a new
Ippity Hippity Hop Twist Challenge {IHHTC4}.
We are starting a new round of challenges for April and
first up we have this sketch.

I’m the lucky one to bring you this month of challenges, so I hope you will enjoy them.  🙂  All the deets for the challenge can be found on the Ippity blog or in the Ippity forum.

This is a very common sketch for me and have used this simple design over and over again.  It can be dressed up or down in so many ways, so let your imagination run wild!!!

I’m using the Bitty Pixie Paisley stamp set.  I embossed the cute little paisleys with clear embossing powder.  I just wanted a slight simple background.  The many thanks sentiment fit perfectly on this label die cut.

The fabulous Lisa H. is next!!!!

stamps: Bitty Pixie Paisley {ippity}
patterned paper and die cut: cottage collection {crate paper}
other: deco scissors {Provocraft}, clear embossing powder, ribbon {offray}

{3.28.2011} hippity hop

Hello H{ippity} Hoppers!

We have a {free} week!
March was a little long this month, so to keep our challenges in line we are going challenge free this week.

I’ve had a few requests for some thank you, so I turned to my trusty {ippity} stamps to create this one.

Gurnsey Gingham
House a Home
Just Wanted to Say

Sweet and simple.  Makes my heart happy.

I had a super weekend.  Today is my birthday and I celebrated with my family yesterday.  Luckily there were only 6 candles on the cake “3” and “3”… I’ll let you figure out how old I am.  Ha.  I asked for a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and boy was I ever SURPRISED.  My hubby ordered a special cake from restaurant we both love.  It has 2 layers of cheesecake (one plain and one chocolate) and a layer of chocolate cake.  PLUS, it is coated in a very thin ganache with pistachios… yum.  Much better than a yellow cake and chocolate frosting.  He surprised me a lot this year!!!

So begins another year of fun and I have a very lucky feeling about the number 33.
It is a good thing and I know it will be a good year!

Lisa H. is next with her A.MaZ.iNG creation!!!!
